Before moving forward you should know how much time and money you would require to install a french door. Instructions Before Installing French Doors?
There are a few things that are considered before getting started. The location of the door and what type of material or screen option are being used are also important. The location of the door is also important to ensure that there will be enough space for the new door to open and close.
Measurement
You can simply start with taking a measurement of the height and the width of your current doorway. Here you want to make sure that you remove the door frame with the pry bar before taking any measurement to get the accuracy.
For exterior doors you have to measure the width of the door frame and cut the seal pen to the same size. This pan will help you to keep the rain out of your home.
Putting Sill Pan
Once you finish with cutting the pan, now you can apply the waterproof caulk. Slide the sill pan into the position for the base of the door frames. You have to press it down into the caulk. Push evenly along the entire relent of the seal pen and make sure there are no air bubbles.
Install the Door
Install the door frame you have to apply waterproof caulk and the perimeter of the sill pan. After that, seat the door frame into the sill pan. Of course you would need more than one person to do this. Once the base of your door frame is in the place now you have to tilt it up to slide it into the position.
Install the Strike Plates
You got your door in the place now, close it and mark where you want to shoot the bolt hits.. You will be needing a strike plate to add security and durability.
Seal the Door Frame
Seal the door frame on the top and sides with a waterproof caulk. You have to make sure that both the inside and the outside section of the door can prevent moisture and air.You have to let the call stay for 24 hours to fully set then reinstall the door trim.
Once you are done with that final step of this project is to install the door knobs and lock.
If you didn’t get any kit with the hardware then you would have to purchase a suitable loan off and a lock for the installation. Just follow the instructions and you will be good to go. Just follow the instructions and you will be Good to go.
